Testimonials

“I began seeing Dr. Clyburn in 2010 shortly after the passing of my maternal grandfather. She helped me cope with my grief tremendously. Our sessions ended up taking a turn to my personal issues beyond his death and I’m glad I continued to see her. Over the course of four years, she helped me discover more things about myself than I’d ever considered. I owe much of my recent interpersonal skills and collaborations to the sessions spent with her. She’s seen me at my absolute lowest point and I’m grateful that she was my psychologist. People like her make me a better advocate for mental health.”
 – A.H.

“Becoming a client of Dr. Clyburn allowed myself to truly learn who I am. Before her I would hold on to pain and people that were toxic to me. Afterwards, she has taught me to handle everything that comes and to understand why it was brought to me. I used to feel lost or in my “numb period” where I thought that shutting myself off from the world and emotions would help me. In the end, I almost ended up in a deep depression. Luckily I found Dr. Clyburn and freed myself from hiding who I was becoming. I am not sure where I would be without her, and I have and will continue to recommend her services to those in need.

I would highly recommend Dr. Clyburn to anyone looking for a safe space to release any issue that may be affecting them. From work, school, family and relationships I have never felt judged or embarrassed while disclosing my feelings to her. She has the gift of making you feel completely comfortable in her presence as well as content with your situation after leaving. I always feel relieved after our meetings, and easily set an action plan to overcome my issues with her help.” – D.W.

“First,  I want to thank Dr. Clyburn for not only working with me but for walking this journey with me. Not only did I go through an emotional divorce but I became a victim of harassment, which lasted almost 4 years. Although it was a traumatic experience, Dr. Clyburn took her time during each session to educate and equip me with tools that I now have today to overcome any obstacle. During my therapy sessions, I felt heard, cared for and above all, I felt supported. I wasn’t alone. I appreciated the questions and the open discussions Dr. Clyburn shared with me in order to regain hope, discover my inner strength and learn to love myself again.”  – J.C.

“Dr. Sonya Clyburn has really helped me work on my depression and anxiety. The exercises and reading materials she uses to aid in this have helped me work through past trauma.  Her methods have taught me new coping skills and tactics to work through these issues. I feel safe and confident working with her and continuing my progress in my journey to be mentally healthy.”  – M.D.

“I’ve been seeing Dr. Clyburn for a few months now and I can truly say I’m extremely pleased. I’m always looking forward to our sessions because  I’m always experiencing and learning something new. I’ve been able to understand myself, my past, my present, and even my actions. Often we think we understand and truly know ourselves but in reality we don’t.

I highly recommend this beautiful woman.– T.M.
